Employee Spotlight Q & A:
- Ashley Alderman: What's your routine at the beginning of the workday?
- Ivo Moscoso: My day typically kicks off with checking emails and Slack messages right after I wake up. Before diving into projects, I find that a refreshing shower helps me fully wake up. And considering my early-rising kids, a regular workday for me begins between 8-9 am.
- AA: If you could pose a question about the universe, what would that question be?
- IM: I'd ask, "What is the purpose of our existence?
- AA: What forms of recognition and appreciation resonate with you the most?
- IM: While I appreciate a simple "thank you" or a "well done" when I accomplish something, what truly brings me joy is seeing the happiness in someone's face, particularly my kids.
- AA: What stands out as your most memorable experience at Peoplelogic?
- IM: Receiving praise has been truly unforgettable. I wasn't accustomed to hearing words like "Nice work" or "Good job" from a supervisor, making those moments particularly special.
- AA: If you could possess superpowers, what abilities would you choose and why?
- IM: At times, I find myself yearning for the ability to be omnipresent — to exist in multiple places simultaneously would allow for more freedom, more experiences, and more life.
- AA: Can you share a small act of kindness that has stayed with you?
- IM: One memorable incident involved a compliment, unexpectedly received in the most unlikely setting—from the person I least expected. While working as a cashier in a supermarket, my high school philosophy teacher spotted me. She remarked that it was a waste to see someone like me in such a place, and it completely caught me off guard. At that moment, words eluded me, and the impact of her kindness remains unforgettable.
- AA: What work-related achievement holds the most meaning for you?
- IM: Achieving complete integration within the Peoplelogic team has been my most significant accomplishment to date. Transitioning from working with physical products to software and technology has helped me positively push the boundaries of my comfort zone and continually grow.
- AA: How would you characterize your work style if it were a genre of music?
- IM: I would liken my work style to jazz. I appreciate collaborating with individuals who understand their roles, and I adapt and harmonize with the team, embracing improvisation. It's a blend of both chaotic and smooth moments, but always in sync with the collective rhythm.
- AA: In your opinion, which industry changes or trends do you believe will exert the most significant impact in our field?
- IM: Undoubtedly, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already revolutionizing how companies assess their objectives and align their targets.
- AA: If asked, how might your best friend sum you up in three words?
- IM: Determined, adventurous, and loyal. I frequently dive into new activities, even when I'm uncertain if I'm prepared. For instance, Peoplelogic's CTO Hernani, often invites me to rock climb, which challenges me to step outside my comfort zone while embracing tranquility and flow.
- AA: If you were limited to consuming only one food for the rest of your life, what would that be?
- IM: I'd choose freshly baked bread with butter. There's nothing like warm bread straight from the oven.
- AA: If you were granted a year-long sabbatical with full pay, how would you choose to spend it?
- IM: I would dedicate my time to studying subjects pertinent to coding, quality assurance, and DevOps to fuel my professional growth. Currently, I'm immersed in learning Gitlab and GitHub as I'm always looking to enhance my skill set.
- AA: How do you typically unwind after a stressful day?
- IM: Exercise has consistently proven to be my most effective stress-relief strategy. While I may not be in peak shape right now, I've always enjoyed going for a run. Additionally, bonding with my family by walking the dog and spending quality time outdoors with the kids serves as a great way to relax and recharge.
