Change happens in our personal life and it happens in our work. Our brains respond to change in many different ways. But essentially there's that first denial and fear of something new. And that's when our fight or flight response just sort of kicks into high gear. What does this mean for me? How do I either move towards this or flee away from this? Our brains initially go to is this safe for me to engage in as a change? Because change is scary, change is hard, and ultimately it unsettles us. We have a lot going on in our brains from a neurotransmitter perspective, there's the dopamine response of excitement, there's the serotonin response of motivation, but there's also that fight or flight.
In my podcast with Julian I talk about change, brain science, and how we can navigate transformation as self-aware leaders. Listen to hear more about:
- How your brain actually processes change (it's not what you think!).
- Practical strategies to boost positive brain chemicals during change.
- Ways to support team members who find change challenging.
- Actionable insights that blend cutting-edge neuroscience with practical leadership strategies.
